Do you have a manuscript you think might interest us?

If you do, first review our Frequently Asked Questions, which contain our submission guidelines. If you can't complete every applicable question (including those about readership and marketing) with a thoughtful answer, you're probably not ready to submit a query. Please note especially the genres we do not publish.

We accept author queries on this form only. It forms the basis of our initial decision. Do not omit well-researched and creative thoughts on marketing your work to a realistically targeted audience.

Because of the number of queries we receive, and because several people review each query, please allow as much as a month for our response. And, again because of the number of queries, we can neither initiate nor engage in conversations about manuscripts we will not be publishing.

If we respond positively we'll send you a password with directions for submission of sample pages from your book. If yours is a nonfiction manuscript, we will be looking for a projected (and detailed) Table of Contents, the first chapter of the book, and your qualifications for writing this book. If yours is a fiction manuscript, we will request a one-page synopsis and the first twenty or thirty pages of your novel.
